Terms of use

Last updated 2026-10-15

This document describes how the service works today. It is pending review by legal counsel and may be revised; material changes will be announced before they take effect.

These terms apply to your use of DocWise (the “service”) at docwise.io, including the web application and API. By creating an account or using the service on behalf of an organization, you agree to them for that organization.

1. The service

DocWise classifies documents and extracts structured data from them using AI models, validation rules and optional human review. Results are produced automatically and can contain errors; you are responsible for checking results before relying on them for decisions with legal or financial effect.

2. Accounts and workspaces

  • You must give accurate account information and keep your credentials and API keys secret.
  • Workspace administrators control who can access a workspace and its documents.
  • You are responsible for activity in your workspace, including through API keys you create.

3. Your content

You keep all rights to the documents you upload and the data extracted from them. You give us permission to process that content only to provide the service to you, as described in our privacy policy. We do not use your content to train AI models.

You confirm that you have the right to upload the documents you process, including any personal data they contain, and that your use complies with applicable law.

4. Acceptable use

  • Do not upload malware or content you have no right to process.
  • Do not attempt to access other workspaces, bypass limits, or disrupt the service.
  • Do not use the service to build a competing dataset or to reverse engineer the models we call.

5. Plans, usage and payment

Paid plans include a monthly page allowance and, where stated, an overage price per additional page, as shown on our pricing page or in your order. Fees are billed in advance for the plan and in arrears for overage. Usage is measured in processed pages. You can cancel at the end of any billing period.

6. AI providers

The service sends document content to the AI providers configured for your workspace, under terms that exclude training on your data. Provider outages can delay processing; we retry and may fall back to another configured provider.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available and secure but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation unless agreed in a separate service level agreement. We may change features; we will give notice before removing functionality you depend on or making breaking changes to API v1.

8. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend access for non-payment, security risk or a serious breach of these terms, and will tell you why when we can. After termination your documents and results are deleted according to our retention rules; export what you need before closing your workspace.

9. Warranties and liability

The service is provided “as is” to the extent permitted by law. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Neither party is liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. General

These terms, together with any order form and data processing agreement, are the entire agreement for the service. If we change them we will post the new version here with a new date and notify you of material changes in advance. Questions? Contact us.
